Electric bikes are taking the cycling world by storm, with a head-spinning array of choices available on the market.

While some electric bikes can roar up mountains and others promise not to skid in sand or snow, a select few have attributes and options ideal for senior riders.

E-Joe Anggun 3.0 Electric Comfort Bike

The E-Joe Anggun 3.0 Electric Comfort Bike gets top reviews as a good all-around electric bike for senior riders, capable of carrying a rider up to 300 pounds, while the E-Joe Gadis 48V 350W Electric City Bike features a low-step frame that makes mounting and dismounting easy.

Electrobike Gama Cruise 350 W

The Electrobike Gama Cruise 350 W, meanwhile, wins praise for comfort, with swept-back handlebars and a shock-absorbing seat.

Specialized’s Women’s Turbo Vado 3.0

At the higher end cost-wise, Specialized’s Women’s Turbo Vado 3.0 also features a step-through frame, convenient for anyone who doesn’t want to swing a leg over the back of a saddle.

A tester quoted by Bicycling.com said the Vado “is the bike that made me realize that e-bikes just take all the good parts of riding and subtract all the crappy parts.”

Espin Sport

Easier on the wallet is the Espin Sport, for “those looking to buy their first e-bike without breaking the bank,” said one review. “Those seeking their first e-bike will get plenty of return on their investment with this model.”

SwagCycle EB-5 Pro

The SwagCycle EB-5 Pro, at just 37 pounds, easily folds into the trunk of a car. Reviewers noted it has one of the safest and most powerful braking systems on the market.

SwagCycle’s Pro Folding Electric Bike

Still another option is SwagCycle’s Pro Folding Electric Bike. Pedal-free, the 250-watt motor does all the work.

“The plan is for you to relax,” said a review.
