If you’re over 65 and have been contemplating trying cannabis, you’re not alone. Many of your cohorts are on the same page. According to a report published by Journal of the American Medical Association  (JAMA), marijuana usage by people over 65 jumped 75% from 2015 to 2018.

The data also suggests that marijuana use is increasing for those battling cancer and is noticeably higher for people diagnosed with diabetes. A similar study done last year by PubMed indicated that older adults mostly use marijuana for pain management.

Ganja is currently legal for recreational use in 11 states and legal medically in 33 as of 2020. If you’re curious about marijuana and live in one of the states where it’s legal, consult your healthcare provider.
